A Closer Look at 10:17-31 and the Key to "adult childhood"

Going on further along his way, somebody came running up and knelt before him. They questioned him “Good teacher, what may I do in order to inherit life eternal?” And Jesus said to him. “Why do you call me good. Nobody is good except God. You know the commandments Do not kill. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not bear false witness. Do not defraud. Honour your father and mother.”

Notes:
Commandments 5-10 relate to the morality of wider society.

Commandments 5,6,7 are largely echoed in Commandments 8,9 10.

For instance
5. Do not kill is: Do not destroy the life (and self determination) of another.
6. Do not commit adultery is: Do not destroy the life partnership of another.
7. Do not steal is: Do not take the livelihood of another.

8. To bear false witness is to destroy the reputation and self determination of another.
9. To covet thy neighbour’s wife threatens the life partnership of another.
10.To covet thy neighbour’s goods threatens the livelihood of another.

In the construction of a society, this leaves a focus on:
